As many of you may know, I am a geek about using technology on DouglasNiedt.com and in my teaching. When generative artificial intelligence exploded onto the scene in 2022 and 2023, I jumped on the bandwagon.
Artificial intelligence, or AI, is undergoing a Cambrian explosion, and keeping up with the latest advances is challenging. I have learned just enough to be dangerous😀. I've taken several training courses and earned a Microsoft Certificate in Generative AI and Computer Ethics.
One of the first ideas that popped into my head was to use an AI chatbot on my website to answer users' questions about the classical guitar, specifically classical guitar technique, practicing, and performing.
I tried ChatGPT, Microsoft's Copilot, Claude, Google's products, and many others, but they often draw information from unreliable sources. Although valuable and remarkable for many tasks, they are pretty terrible at explaining classical guitar techniques, practicing, and performing.
Therefore, in July 2023, I started building my own AI chatbot for classical guitarists, "The Classical Guitar Technique Wizard." I spent hundreds of hours learning to code basic chatbots from the ground up and experimented with customizing pre-built solutions.
My Classical Guitar Technique Wizard uses generative artificial intelligence. It formulates its answers totally on my own lessons and articles on DouglasNiedt.com. Therefore, you receive accurate, safe, and complete answers to your questions.
The Wizard's answers to your questions are not found verbatim in Douglas Niedt's Technique Tips. The Wizard senses the intent of your questions and gives answers beyond what Doug has offered online. It does this in several ways:
In summary, the Wizard delves more deeply to provide answers by understanding your intent, integrating various concepts, emphasizing practical application, and continuously refining its responses based on feedback. This approach allows it to transcend the source information and offer more complete and valuable answers.
You may wonder if we save your conversations with the Wizard or if we know who you are. Here is the Wizard's answer:
I save the content of our conversations, and Douglas Niedt, the Classical Guitar Technique Wizard Chatbot developer, can access the content to improve my responses and functionality. However, these saved conversations are entirely anonymous. Because of how Doug created me, it is impossible to collect or store personal information about users, such as names, email addresses, or IP addresses.
The saved conversations only include the questions and responses without any identifying information. The saved conversations allow us to analyze common questions and issues, which helps us fine-tune my answers and enhance my ability to assist you with your questions about classical guitar techniques. Douglas Niedt reviews the conversations to identify areas where my responses can be improved, such as clarifying ambiguous questions or providing more accurate answers.
Your privacy and anonymity are important to us. While the content of the conversations helps us enhance my work, we have no way to link any conversation to a specific individual. Rest assured that your identity remains protected.
We appreciate your feedback and look forward to improving my abilities to serve you and our community better.
