Pictured at right is Toosy, the Official Feline at DouglasNiedt.com

By popular demand, here is the Toosy Photo Gallery.

Toosy's favorite quote is by German theologian, musician, philosopher, and physician Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965) who wrote, "There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats."

TECHNIQUE TIP OF THE MONTH (Doug's Dirty Little Secrets)

Doug subtitled his Tech Tip as "Doug's Dirty Little Secrets" after reading someone's posted message on a guitar web forum. The writer asserted that professional virtuoso guitarists all had secrets they kept to themselves and wouldn't tell anyone else, so no one would play as well as them!

May's Technique Tip of the Month is Part 2 of Doug's shocking series, "Top Ten Nasty Habits of Guitar Technique." The habit he describes this month is very vile and disgusting. Not at all suitable for family discussion. The high def video clips should probably not be viewed in mixed company...

Do you want to improve your playing? Doug knows his stuff! He studied in the Segovia Master Classes, with Pepe Romero, Jorge Morel,Christopher Parkening, Narciso Yepes, Oscar Ghiglia, with general musical studies at The Juilliard School. Read about his background. Plus, he himself can play really, really well!
